This workshop is an opportunity for students who take part in our Vocal Tech classes, and those outside of The Song School - aged 10-14 to experience what it’s like to spend some time in the recording studio!

They will learn microphone technique; positioning; how to warm-up; what to listen for and how to interact with their sound engineer.

Students will learn songs to be recorded both as solos and in groups, at our in house recording facility in Alexandra Street. The workshop will be led by our technical and vocal coaching staff, who will be guiding our senior music tech students who will be developing their technical recording skills at the same time.

The final piece will be published on our YouTube channel after the workshop.

The cost to take part in the workshop is £20 per child. Children from low-income families are welcome to apply for support for the full cost, via our student bursary programme (click here for more info)
