This full day workshop will introduce the concept of songwriting for beginners.

Who is this for?

Aimed at 11 to 15 year-old singers and/or instrumentalists who want to start their writing journey. There will be workshops for those who sing and don’t play and those who play and don’t sing, but have a creative brain and want to learn how to bring their song ideas to life.

Outline

• For instrumentalists: learn how to build chord progressions.

• For singers: how to use your voice to create melodies

• Together: how to use the skills you each bring to the table to write together

• Lyric writing: learn creative ways to tell your story, how to find inspiration, and tips and tricks on how to finish writing the song

The cost to take part in the workshop is £30 per child. Children from low-income families are welcome to apply for support for the full cost, via our student bursary programme (click here for more info)
