Throughout half-term we’ll be running a series of workshops with the aim of involving everyone in the recording process. The full week is aimed at experienced musicians and vocalists and will look like this:
Tuesday:
Studio set up. We will prep various locations around The Song School, including our existing recording studio, to accommodate all the settings for the week. Begin recording the music. We will be recording our own custom backing tracks, laying down the parts for each instrument. We expect the output from day one to be a guide track, not the finished article.
Throughout this process, you will be in charge of the recording process, acting as a producer and sound engineer, with guidance from our coaching staff.
Wednesday:
On Wednesday you will make the finishing touches to your track in the morning - recording the remaining instruments. Anyone not involved in this will be welcome to join our novice musicians for a band jam!
During the afternoon, you will begin recording vocals.
Thursday:
Thursday will be the final day and will mainly involve recording vocals and making any final touches to the instrumentation on the track.
The final output from this project will be released on our YouTube channel.
The cost to attend the full 3-day workshop is £50 per child. Or £20 for one day or £40 for two days. Children from low-income families are welcome to attend for FREE. More details on this can be found in the form below.
